MIA | Welcome!

MIA stands for the Meta-Image App, which is the output of a Quintin Hogg Trust’s funded project that I researched while leading the Digital and Interactive Storytelling LAB at the University of Westminster in London, UK between 2018 and 2020.

I devised MIA to translate my expertise as a professional photographer and university professor into a consequential course to introduce foundational competencies in storytelling and visual literacy.

MIA is composed of five lessons.  These can be engaged in any order, even independently!, yet I would advise to follow this order: first Storytelling, then Aesthetics and Composition, and, finally, Montage and Storyboarding.

Since its production, MIA continues to evolve to reflect the changes that happen with the digital revolution and the new advent of AI. In response, not only each MIA’s lesson is updated as needed, but I have equally reviewed the rationale of the whole course.

MIA as a foundational course in storytelling with key components in visual literacy, align participants to a a set of shared competencies that are the basics to build more professional abilities in storytelling, imaging and strategy.

As said, the MIA course comprises five lessons, but you can buy each of these five lessons independently if you prefer so. Yet, if you buy the complete MIA course you have much more than the sum of the five lessons. In fact, by buying MIA as a complete course you gain the following:

  • upfront 16% discount compared to buying each lesson independently;
  • the masterclass The Art of Pitching for free!
  • a consequential pathway to train you in storytelling from the very foundations;
  • a 1-2-1 tutoring scheme with independent activities for personalised feedback;
  • AND a personalised offer to enrol to the next courses at a very discounted rate.

SO WHY WAITING?
