The Pitch is a line of talk that attempts to persuade someone, with a planned presentation strategy of a product or service, to initiate/close a sale.
Yet, pitching is much more
PItching is an everyday practice spanning across all professional and personal fields. Indeed, you pitch when you aim to convince a bystander to grant you some attention, as well as when you try to sell something to someone (remember “sell me this pen?”), or ‘sell’ yourself at a first date.
Whatever the context, it is key to PREPARE to pitch, regardless it being formal or informal, to be ready to deliver what you pitch in any number of ways. This is the reason why you never deliver the pitch by heart but, instead, look for ways to captivate your audience by endlessly adjusting on their reactions.
Below a quick shoot&run presentation I did for the EU-funded project EXPAND, in Spring 2022, at the H-Farm University just outside Venice, Italy.
The Pitch is extensively part of all courses at massimedia.training, as indeed it represents a foundational storytelling competence.
