Montage is the first lesson in building a visual literacy and can be approached both as a self-standing activity and the first component of the MIA course.
MIA stands for the Meta-Image App, and this is the thoroughly enhanced version of the App that the Quintin Hogg Trust generously funded while I was leading the Digital and Interactive Storytelling LAB at the University of Westminster in London, UK.
MIA has five modules. These can be engaged in any order, yet I would advise to follow the order they are presented with: Montage, Composition, Aesthetics, Storyboarding and Story-showing.
MIA has been translating my expertise as a professional photographer and university lecturer into a consequential course to develop foundational competencies in visual literacy, and it continues to evolve to respond to the latest requirements of today's digital cultures.
Welcome to Montage!
